How to Treat Brown Banded Cockroaches
Brown banded cockroaches are different than German roaches and not as hard to eliminate. Unlike German roaches, they are not likely infesting the walls, but they do like to hang out in warm places, like around the ceiling. They do not require much water to survive.

To treat brown banded cockroaches, start by cleaning the kitchen. Never leave any dishes in the sink or pet food out at night. Vacuum all floors in the house. Eating should be limited to the kitchen and dining rooms only. Next, mix 16 ml of Temprid FX with 12 ml of NyGuard IGR, in a gallon (3.75 liters) of water. A gallon is a lot of product, so you may want to only mix 8 ml of Temprid FX with 6 ml of NyGuard IGR, in a half gallon of water. You can apply it with a pump-up garden sprayer. Just use a couple of pumps to produce a light pressure. Set the tip for a fan spray. Spray this material along all baseboards and where the ceiling meets the walls. Also, spray all surfaces under and around appliances. You do not need to spray the front of appliances. Remove everything from under the kitchen sink and spray all surfaces in the cabinet. Be sure to spray any surfaces where you have seen activity. It is also a good idea to spray surfaces under electronic equipment. Move the device, spray where it was, and then put it back. You just want a band about two inches wide around the device and under it. Just be sure to wear eye protection, a respirator, rubber gloves, a hat, and long sleeve shirt. Take a shower after you finish and wash your clothes. The pesticide is safe after it dries, and it will last up to seven months. One treatment should take care of the problem. However, if you are still seeing activity after three months, then repeat the treatment.

After the liquid pesticide dries, apply boric acid in all the outlets using a handheld duster. Remove the outlet covers and puff in the dust on the bottom of the outlet boxes and between the boxes and the drywall. I show you how to do this in the German cockroach video. Do the same thing to wall switches too. Also, puff some boric acid into pipe penetrations under sinks and apply it under all baseboards. It's a good idea to apply it under major appliances as well. Boric acid is permanent, and this treatment never needs to be repeated, unless you remove the product. So, the treatment under baseboards, in pipe penetrations, and that sort of thing will last forever. When you clean under appliances, that will remove the boric acid, but you do not need to reapply it if the infestation is gone.

Finally, apply a gel bait every 12 inches under the kitchen sink base cabinet. Also, apply bait anywhere you have seen activity. For appliances and electronics, just apply a pea sized dot on a small piece of paper or cardboard and place it under appliances and next to electronics. Pea size dots are all you need and apply them about ever 12 inches or 30 cm.
