How to Treat Earwigs
Earwigs are coming in from the outside of your house, so the first thing you need to do is treat your yard. You need to apply a pesticide on your entire yard and up the side of the building about 36 inches. This treatment should be done every 60 to 90 days, but it does not need to be done in freezing weather. I have a video on how to do that, and I will give you a link to it. In the video, I recommend mixing Bifen XTS at a ratio of 1 part product to 14 parts of water in the sprayer cup, but for earwigs, I recommend mixing it 1 part product to 10 parts of water. Just put 3 ounces of Bifen XTS in the sprayer and add 27 ounces of water. A light spray on the side of the house is all that is needed, but you should soak the area where the ground meets the house, and make sure you get the grass wet enough for the pesticide to reach the soil.
Now that your yard is treated, you need to get rid of the ones inside the house. Apply D-Fense dust under baseboards and in cracks and crevices wherever you see activity. You should also apply it around pipe penetrations under sinks and other plumbing fixtures. It is a good idea to remove outlet covers and apply it between the outlet box and the drywall, so that the dust gets into the wall void. All you need is a handheld duster. Fill the duster halfway and apply the dust with the spout on top.
