How to Treat Smokey Brown Cockroaches
Smokey Brown cockroaches are an outside roach, but they will enter your house if they don't like the weather outside. Once inside, they can take up residence there.
To prevent the problem, you need to treat the outside of your home. You can simply treat the perimeter of the building, but it is more effective if you treat the entire yard. I will give you a link to my video on how to treat the exterior of the house and a link to my video on how to treat your yard. In the videos I recommend mixing the pesticide 1 to 14, but for American cockroaches I now mix it 1 to 10 in the sprayer cup. So, put 2 ounces of Bifen XTS in the sprayer cup and add 20 ounces of water. You can also do these treatments with a 20-gallon hose-end sprayer. I will give you a link to my video on how to use a 20-gallon hose end sprayer. A 20-gallon hose-end sprayer is a little less expensive to purchase and it's faster too. Personally, I treat both the perimeter of the house and the entire yard because, not only will it stop American cockroaches, but it will also prevent almost every other kind of bug from entering your house. If you are treating your yard with a hose end sprayer, you can just go ahead and treat the exterior of your house with it as well. It is super-fast to do it that way and it will not cause any harm to you or the environment. Treating around windows can be a little messy this way, so you can use a 1-gallon pump-up tank sprayer for that. The sprayer can be easily filled by using the hose end sprayer in the stream setting. Simply shoot the finished product into the sprayer.
Now that you've treated the outside, you need to eliminate any roaches that have taken up residence inside your home.

Start by doing a thorough cleaning. Make sure that there is nothing around that the roaches can eat. Make sure there are no dirty dishes in the sink, trash cans are clean, the trash is taken out every day, pet food is picked up every night, and sinks are wiped dry before you go to bed. You also want to clean countertops, inside toasters, and that sort of thing. Smokey Brown roaches like water and they need food to survive. So, it's a good idea to deprive them of food and water.

Next, apply Temprid FX to all surfaces under the sink and around all baseboards in areas where you've seen activity. This will typically be bathrooms, the kitchen, the laundry room, in the basement, and in the garage. Feel free to apply around any other places where you may see activity, but do not apply it on surfaces where food is prepared or eaten. Mix this product 16 ml to a gallon of water and apply it with a pump-up garden sprayer. You don’t want too much pressure in the sprayer, so just pump it a couple times. Any sprayer is fine to use. They are available at Lowes, Home Depot, or Amazon. Always wear rubber gloves, eye protection, and a respirator while applying this product. It is safe enough for children to play on after it dries. Until then, keep the children and pets away from the treated areas.
Buy a handheld duster and apply D-Fense dust into all cracks and crevices under all the sinks, especially where pipes are entering the wall of the floor. Also apply D-Fense dust under all the baseboards in the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room, and other places where you see activity. The dust should be used for crack and crevice treatment only, or for treating areas where it cannot be disturbed by people, pets, or air currents.

Apply a gel bait in areas where you are seeing activity. You only need to use a small dot of the bait, and you should keep the dots about 12 inches apart. Apply the bait under the sinks, in cabinets, and any other place where you see activity. This will typically be areas where there is an available water source. To treat under appliances, put a pea-sized dot of the bait on a piece of paper and slide it under the appliance. Remember that you may see activity in the basement and the garage. If you do, be sure that you treat these areas as well.
