How to Treat Spiders
That Are Not Harmful to People
Spiders are very easy to treat. The first thing you need to know is that, like most pests, they are coming in from the outside. Therefore, if you wish to put an end to them, then you need to treat the outside of your home. I have a video on how to do that, and I will give you a link to it. If you really want these guys gone, then you should treat your yard as well. Not only will treating your yard totally eliminate the spiders, but you will also eliminate a bunch of other pests as well. This would include things like outside species of roaches, silverfish, ants, mosquitoes, and almost anything else you can think of that may be breeding in your yard. It is not necessary to treat your yard to eliminate spiders, but this way you will not run into them outside either. To maintain protection, you must treat the exterior of your home at least every 90 days. If you live in a warm climate, then I recommend that you do it every 60 days. Treating the yard should be done at the same time.
To treat the inside of your house or apartment, simply get a can of Raid Flying Insect Killer. It does not need to be Raid. Any brand of flying insect killer will work. Simply spray any spiders or spider webs that you see. Also spray it in areas where you suspect spiders may be hiding, like behind the headboard on your bed, behind dressers and other furniture, in closets, or anywhere else these guys may be hiding. It is a good idea to wear rubber gloves, a respirator, and eye protection while you are applying any pesticides. Pesticide does not get much safer than flying insect killer, but you don't want to be breathing it either. Your lungs were designed to breathe air and not pesticide. This stuff is not going to kill you, but it's still not a good idea too breathe in too much of it.
After that, simply take a broom or dust mop and knock down the spider webs. If you treat the outside of your home on a 60 or 90 day schedule, then you will most likely never find spiders in your home again.
